Paul founded JKM in July 1988 and helped grow the firm to the largest hospitality investment advisory firm in the northwest. The firm had a fine reputation for high quality work, and provided a wide range of advisory services to hotel owners, lenders, national hotel chains, attorneys, and others with a vested interest in the hospitality industry. Paul retired from the firm in March 2005 to focus his efforts on his hotel investment and specialized investment advisory activities.

Paul joined this international certified public accounting and management consulting firm in April 1978 and became the second youngest partner in the firm's history in May 1985. He served as partner-in-charge of the firm's northwest hospitality consulting and appraisal practice. He left the firm in June 1988 to form Jinneman and Associates, the predecessor firm to Jinneman, Kennedy, & Mohn, P.S.
